Many people use kick plates to protect their screen doors from pets, children, and general screen damage.
Sizing and Dimensions
Kick plates range in size from 8" tall (the most popular choice) to 12", 16", and 24" tall. All PCA aluminum screen doors come standard with an 8" kick plate. However, screen doors can be ordered without a kick plate as well, or with any of the kick plate sizes seen to the right. Some door designs are limited, such as the Nature Series, where the maximum height would be the 16".
Kick plates measure an additional 2" from the bottom of the door to the top of the kick rail bar. For instance, an 8” kick plate would offer a height of 10” from the bottom of the door to the top of the kick rail bar.
A kick plate can be added to any aluminum screen door purchase (cost and compatibility vary depending on the door model). When ordered together, installation of the kick plate is complimentary.
